Senator Princess Stella Oduah touching every life in Anambra North.

Just like Christ, who proposed his leadership with commitment to service by first strongly initiating the idea of primary evangelism, which is " giving the poor bread or showing them where to get bread". Senator Prince Stella Oduah has indeed sincerely applied the same method of leadership , she has without mandate give millions of hungry people bread to feed on, she has proven without stated doubt to be word bond to promises, she has without any show of remorse broken the Nigerian leadership style , which is promise a lot at power seek and when on seat do nothing . Our able Senator has immensely touched every family in Anambra north senatorial district with a project that covers the capacity building, skill acquisition, grants to entrepreneur and a full scholarship to school children and adults.

Looks can be decisive , the saying has always been ,but to me , that is to some extent , I doubt if a hungry man would beam smiles on seeing a leader who had promised to better his life and that of his family and never did.
Looking at the faces of over a thousand plus people that have benefitted from the benevolence of our distinguished senator and the overwhelming glow that steady their faces , one will not stop at giving it in as a look of gratitude for the senator.

With a good count of sincerity to leadership which our senator have portrayed, when people talk about her in years to come , it would be with gratitude .

Thank you Senator Princess Stella Oduah

Senator Stella Oduah Committed to Service.

SENATOR STELLA ODUAH: COMMITTED TO SERVICE

There are things that cannot be faked: things like being genuinely compassionate and having inside you the desire to impact positively on the lives of the masses. In the past, politicians have promised to reach out to the electorates and make life easier for people that voted them in, but like the Biblical Pharaoh's Chief Cupbearer forgot Joseph, most of them forget their promises and the people that voted them in. Funny enough, they reappear whenever they want the people's vote again.

The truth is that most of them are simply interested in gaining the votes of the people, and some of them are carried away when they achieve their aims. The only group that would remember their promises are those that have inside of them the genuine hunger to change the lives of the people, and Honorable Princess Stella Oduah is one of the genuine game changers. She has proven that her words are her bond.

The works of the distinguished Senator is as bright as the day and one can unarguably say that she has directly or indirectly touched every family in Anambra North Senatorial District with a project that covers the capacity building, skill acquisition, grants to Entrepreneurs and a full scholarship to undergraduates.

It is not difficult for one to believe that Senator Oduah, apart from being totally committed to her promises, thinks always of what to do to improve the lives of the masses in Anambra State, and do not hesitate to be flexible with her scheme to accommodate as much as she can.

One has to take a look at the faces of over a thousand people that benefitted from the benevolence of the distinguished Senator and see the overwhelming glow that exposed their gratitude, and one also has to look at the Senator who visited today to appreciate how real her joy was: a joy that truly wants to give and not to take.

Lives are changing in Anambra State because a Senator decided not to sit in the hallowed chamber but to be nearer to the people and address their needs. Generation to come will certainly remember Senator Oduah, and when people talk about her in years to come, it would be with gratitude.

Thank you, Princess Oduah. Let us never lack great leaders like you.

Sen Stella Oduah honouring the fathers on the fathers day.

STELLA ODUAH: HONOURING THE FATHERS ON THE FATHERS' DAY

As nature has made it, children are produced by a man and a woman. The man is known as a father, and the woman, a mother. The study of the social behaviours shows that the smallest unit of a society is the Mother, Father and the Children. For a community to be progressive, the trio has a role to play.

In the past, people call the Father, a breadwinner, and the mother, a home manager. But today, the roles of fathers in our society is beyond providing food for his households. It is their joint responsibility to nurture and discipline the children so that the children would become resourceful to the society. It is well known that if family heads - father and mother, play their roles well, the children would contribute towards a prospering economy.

These and many more are the reasons Senator Stella Oduah visited Lwanga Catholic Church, Okpoko to celebrates the fathers all over the world and also congratulate them for their great contribution in raising the future leaders of the society. Her presence was not only celebrating with the people of her constituency but appreciating the effort of the fathers.

The occasion was graced by the men's societies in the Church who dressed beautifully in great uniforms, and a beautiful sermon was preached to encourage the fathers.

Senator Oduah appreciates the role of the fathers and she prays every day for them. She also knows if fathers are encouraged, the society would have little to worry about.

New Movement Emerges in Support of Sen Stella Oduah

Senator Stella Oduah: Peeping Into The Future

The best way to develop a people is to utilize every immediate opportunity around them and visionary leaders always think outside the box to identify every chance of making the lives of the followers better. Gone are the day's men relied on their limited understanding of their natural resources. In the present day, ideas on every resource are shared and technology and knowledge are exchanged. For these and other numerous reasons, Senator Stella Oduah's Aquatic Studies' University would be an open sesame to uncountable opportunities in Anambra State that have been overlooked in the past.

There is no debate that the importance of Education can never be over-emphasised and in every community, Education - formal and informal - monopolizes the power of transformation and this is exactly the plan of Senator Stella Oduah for the people she represents in the red chamber.

Most people of the Riverine area all over the world turn the natural gift in the waterbody into a great source of livelihood - they trap and sell their produces and make enough money to feed their household and maintain their average lifestyle, but a deeper knowledge on the limitless opportunities in this natural gift could transform a community from ordinary town of fishermen to a center of activities where people would come from far and wide to learn, to transact and to live.

One can easily say that Senator Oduah has a plan not just for today but for the future. If her Educational bills would get a nod from the upper chamber, the great people of Anambra State would embrace with both hands the benefits that would come from this dream: jobs would be created and the effect would be felt instantly and directly felt by the people.

There is no doubt that Senator Stella Oduah believes in total freedom of the people. All her projects promote mental and financial security for the people present and the generation to come-  and this is what leadership should be all about.

Charles Okah, Kanu May Be Freed As MEND, FG Strike Deal To End N-delta Crisis

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and the Federal Government currently engaged in a dialogue through the oil companies and security agencies have reached far-reaching compromises, including the release of former militant leader, Henry Okah, in prison in South Africa and Charles Okah, incarcerated in Nigeria.

They also agreed that ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo , alias Tompolo, would not be harassed by government if he makes himself available as a delegate on MEND Aaron Team 2, while the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, would be released on condition that he renounces the agitation for “Biafra Republic.”

MEND in a statement by spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, today (Saturday) announced other breakthroughs in the discussions that will end the revolt in the South-South and South East regions in a jiffy.

However, it said the recalcitrant Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, still has opportunity to embrace peace failing which a combination of military forces and volunteers in the region, would smoke them out.

The statement read: “The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is the only militant group from the Niger Delta region who are presently engaged in a dialogue with the Federal Government of Nigeria – through oil companies and security agencies -with a view to resolving the current Niger Delta crisis.”

“Thus far, the deliberations have been fruitful, various concessions and guarantees have already been secured. Some of which include, but are not limited to: Release of Henry Okah, Charles Okah and Obi Nwabueze; Review of the life sentence handed to Mr. Edmund Ebiware based on a proposal put forward by the Aaron Team representative for Abia and Imo states, Senator Adolphus Wabara.

“Also, conditional release of IPOB leader, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and others if they renounce their agitation for a “Biafra Republic,” the group said.

Furthermore, MEND said they agreed: “That Mr. Government Ekpemupolo shall not be arrested, harassed and/or intimidated whenever he makes himself available as a delegate of the MEND Aaron Team.”

It added: “That international arbitrator and conflict negotiator, American Dr. Judith Asuni shall be accepted as the representative of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) on the MEND Aaron Team; that the criminal charges against Urhobo freedom fighter, Mr. Kelvin Prosper Oniarah shall be reviewed.

“That the life sentence which was handed to seven soldiers in 2008, who actively supported the Niger Delta struggle be reviewed under the Presidential Amnesty Programme. The affected persons are: Suleiman Alabi Akubo, Major. Mathias Peter, SGT, Alexander Davou, L.Cpl., Moses Nwaigwe, L.Cpl., Nnandi Anene, L.Cpl. Taatihi Emmanuel, L.Cpl and Caleb Bawa, PTE,” it said. .

“However, one of the most immediate and urgent fallout of the ongoing dialogue is the imperative for the Federal Government and MEND to jointly and separately take proactive steps to rescue and secure the region. This is in the event that the recalcitrant Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) continuing on its senseless and politically-motivated path of attacks on the country’s oil assets,” it noted.

MEND asserted: “To this end, both parties agreed that the Special Forces of the Nigerian Army should commence the purely routine but strategic military exercise code-named “Operation Crocodile Tears”; while MEND would commence a meet-the Government-Actors-and-People tour of the Niger Delta region code-named “Operation Moses”.

I Rejected Obasanjo’s N50m Bribe

Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, on Tuesday took on former President Olusegun Obasanjo, over his sweeping statement that all members of the National Assembly were corrupt.

The former president also reportedly dismissed members of the National Assembly as lacking in integrity.

Na’Allah in a statement entitled: “I am not corrupt and I have integrity,” dared Obasanjo to prove a single act of corruption against him.

The Kebbi South lawmaker reminded Obasanjo that he rejected his “N50 million inducement to subvert the Constitution and provide a constitutional framework for the third term ambition of the ex- president.”

Na’Allah insisted that he was prepared to vacate his seat as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria if Obasanjo could prove a single record of corruption against him.

He said, “My attention has been drawn to a purported statement attributed to former president Olusegun Obasanjo where he made a sweeping statement that there are no men of integrity in the National Assembly.

“I am respectfully taking exception to the statement which I express the hope is not true.

“To start with, it is not in my character to join issues with elder statement who have had the privilege of superintending over the affairs of our great country Nigeria.

“This exception has become necessary in view of the enormity of the alleged statement to my person and integrity.

“If former president Obasanjo can come out with one proven record of corruption against me as a person I promised to vacate my seat as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“For the records I was the only member from Kebbi State who did not find it worthy at that time to collect the sum of N50 million as an inducement to subvert the Constitution and provide a constitutional framework for the third term ambition of president Obasanjo.

“I find this statement if it is true to be reckless and terrifying. The implication of the statement is to say that the entire over 170 million Nigerians have not elected a single person with integrity among the 469 members of the National Assembly.

“This is definitely rhapsodic and does not conform to commonsense and reason.”

Leave Igbo out of your travails, APC tells Ekweremadu

Ihuoma Chiedozie, Enugu
the All Progressives Congress caucus in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State on Sunday urged the Deputy Senate President, Mr. Ike Ekweremadu, to stop dragging the name of the local government and that of the Igbo in general into his travails.
Ezeagu LGA is in Enugu West Senatorial Zone, where Ekweremadu represents in the Senate.
Ekweremadu is currently facing trial alongside the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, for allegedly forging the Senate Rules 2015.
At an event organised by Ekweremadu in Ezeagu on Saturday, 30 traditional rulers from the area backed the Deputy Senate President, warning the Federal Government to desist from prosecuting him.
The monarchs equally condemned moves being made by the APC to remove Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Igwe Hafford Agana said, “We are telling the whole world that nothing should happen to Ekweremadu.
“We have given him another Offor staff (symbol of authority in Igboland) today.”
However, reacting to the development, the APC caucus in the local council, led by the state Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Kate Ofor; the Legal Adviser of the APC, Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Anayo Iyama; Chief Chibuike Obu and Robinson Anyanechi, advised Ekweremadu to face his trial.
They argued that Ekweremadu should not drag his constituents into a matter which was before a court of competent jurisdiction.
In a statement, the Ezeagu APC leaders said, “Our understanding of the issue at stake is that some senators, labelled Unity Forum, felt aggrieved after the June 9, 2015 Senate leadership election and thereafter alleged that the Senate Rules book was doctored by Senator Ekweremadu and his cohorts.
“The Unity Forum reported the matter to the police; after investigation, the matter was filed in court by the Attorney General of the Federation.
“To us, it is only the court which can resolve the matter either way.
“We had thought that Senator Ekweremadu, as a senior lawyer, could have devoted more attention to how best to assemble the best legal team to quash the matter instead of dragging Ndigbo into his legal tangle.
“To us, Ekweremadu is being sentimental and hysterical over the matter as if he is not sure-footed, especially when the Senate leadership is jostling for immunity clause at this critical junction.
“He should be careful before his trajectory crosses the red line of contempt of the court.”
According to the Ezeagu APC caucus, Ekweremadu had not used his elevated position to attract development to the South-East.

Anambra Records $5m Vegetable Exports To Europe

AWKA—

In a bid to underscore the importance of diversifying the economy and attracting more industries to Anambra state, Chief Willy Obiano has confirmed that the concise Economic Blueprint, made up of The Four Pillars of Development; including Agriculture, Industrialization, Trade and Commerce and Oil and Gas he developed on assumption of office has started yielding dividends.

The governor who spoke in Abuja in an interactive session he had with the People of Anambra living in the North central part of the country at the Transcorp Hilton stated that the state is now a socially stable, business-friendly environment attracting both indigenes and foreigners to seek wealth-creating opportunities.

To this end, he told the audience which included the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Dr Oby Ezekwesili both PDP and APC members of the National Assembly, former Governor Chinweoke Mbadinuju and several others that Anambra State Investment Agency, ANSIPPA, charged with the mandate of attracting and fast-tracking investments in the state has so far attracted over $4.2 billion deals to the state.

The latest investment he confirmed was sealed on Tuesday last week with Zolt Energy Limited to build a 40 megawatts Embedded Power Generating Plant in Ogbaru. When completed in the next 18 months as scheduled, all the power generated from it will be distributed mainly in Anambra State.

On the state of agriculture, Obiano who was giving a score card of his two and half years stay in office disclosed that “in January this year, Anambra made headlines when it became the first state in Nigeria to export vegetables (Ugu and Onugbu) valued at $5million to Europe.

At the same time, our locally produced brand of rice known as Anambra Rice recently emerged the Best Rice in Africa at an African Products Forum in Lagos. Anambra Rice was adjudged better and more wholesome than other competing brands from South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Namibia and Cameroon.

Our agricultural sector has also attracted investments from 7 companies valued at $1.011bn while the large industrial farms have pushed our local rice production from 90,000 metric tons to 210,000 metric tons. At this rate, we shall soon surpass the 320,000 metric tons we consume in Anambra State per annum” Obiano told the capacity crowd at the Congress Hall that the Oil and Gas Advisory Committee headed by Dr.Emmanuel Egboga, the former Special Adviser to the President on Petroleum Matters has been charged with drafting a comprehensive Blueprint for the Oil & Gas sector and advising the State on the necessary steps that would ensure the recognition of Anambra as the 10th Oil Producing State in Nigeria.

DSS Arrests Mastermind Of Buhari Coup Rumour

The Department of State Services has arrested one Jones Abari, aka Gen. Akotebe Darikoro, for the alleged mastermind of a hoaxed plan to overthrow President Muhammad Buhari by the military.

A statement issued by an official of the service, Mr Tony Opuiyo in Abuja on Saturday said Abari was arrested in Yenagoa on July 21.

Opuiyo described the suspect as the leader of the Joint Revolutionary Council of the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force ( JNDLF).

He said that Abari had confessed to other criminal activities which included a threat to launch missile attacks on selected targets in Abuja and Aso Rock.

Others include writing threat messages to the management of the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) demanding for N500 million and N250 million respectively.

He said that the suspect also masterminded the vandalism of NAOC trunk line in Ogboinbiri, Southern Ijaw and bombing of SPDC oil pipeline.

In another development, the DSS said it had arrested a suspected terrorist, Bulama Ramat, at the Jabi Motor Park, FCT on July 21.

He said that prior to his arrest, Ramat was planning to attack the Federal Capital Territory and its environs in collaboration with other elements of an extremist cell of the Boko Haram group.

Opuiyo said that the service also made other arrests within the month of July in Enugu, Ondo, Jos, Kaduna, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt and Kano states.

The service urged all citizens and residents to remain vigilant and report all suspicious persons, parcels or vehicles to the nearest security formation.

“Members of the public are further called upon to see our societal and individual safety as our collective responsibility,” he said.

He advised the public to support security and law enforcement agencies with critical information that would assist in providing a safe environment for all to carry out their legitimate businesses.

Demba Ba's broken leg X-ray revealed

An X-ray of Demba Ba’s broken leg has been revealed with the former Chelsea striker now set to miss eight months of action.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury in the second half of Shanghai Shenhua’s 2-1 win over bitter rivals Shanghai SIPG.

Ba was rushed to hospital and woke up in pain four hours after receiving general anaesthesia.

The striker’s first question to medical staff was: “Did we win the game?”

Following the injury, Shanghai Shenhua boss Gregorio Manzano insisted that Ba would receive “the best medical treatment” available.

He said: “It could end Ba’s professional career. I would rather lose the game than lose Ba. God is unfair. Ba is too good to have this happened to him.”

Wu Xiaohui, Chairman of Shanghai Shenhua Football Club, broke down in tears when describing the full extent of Ba's horror injury to the media.

Sun Xiang, the player who tackled Ba, visited the striker in hospital as well as Shanghai’s vice-mayor Zhao Wen.

Turkey coup arrests hit 6,000 as Erdogan roots out 'virus'

Turkey has arrested 6,000 people after a failed coup, with President Erdogan vowing to purge state bodies of the "virus" that caused the revolt.
Mr Erdogan's top military aide Col Ali Yazici is among those now in custody.
The overall death toll for the weekend violence has risen to 290, the foreign ministry said. More than 100 of those were participating in the coup.
Security forces are reported to have met resistance from some coup plotters who were being arrested.
Warning shots were fired at Istanbul's second largest airport, and also at a military base in central Konya province, unnamed officials said.
"We will continue to cleanse the virus from all state institutions, because this virus has spread. Unfortunately like a cancer, this virus has enveloped the state," Recep Tayyip Erdogan told mourners at a funeral in Istanbul for victims of the coup.
Mr Erdogan broke down in tears while speaking at the funeral of a close political ally, his campaign manager Erol Olcak, and his teenage son. He said he would take the country forward in "unity and solidarity".
The president repeated an accusation that cleric Fethullah Gulen was behind the plot, and called for him to be extradited from the US. Mr Gulen strongly denies any involvement.

Drama not quite over yet - BBC's Selin Gerit in Istanbul

Emotions are running high as funerals for those killed during the coup plot are held. President Erdogan was among those mourning in Istanbul for the brother of one of his closest advisers.
"My glorious nation has given the best response to the coup plotters," Mr Erdogan said in a televised speech frequently interrupted by chants of "God is Great!" Whenever he made a reference to Fethullah Gulen, the roar of boos would come from the crowd.
Turkey has been through a dramatic 48 hours, on a scale even this country - with a turbulent past of three previous coups and a further two military interventions - had never seen before. And it is not totally over yet.
As more than 6,000 have been detained and the expectation that numbers could rise further, one Twitter user commented "this is an opportunity for the governing party to cleanse out all opposition to the presidential system".
Mr Erdogan's critics wonder if he could he make use of the latest events as leverage to push harder for a constitutional change that would further enhance his powers.

People are rallying in cities including Istanbul and Ankara, to show support for the government.
Mr Erdogan told a crowd that Turkey would consider reinstating the death penalty. He said: "In democracies, decisions are made based on what the people say. I think our government will speak with the opposition and come to a decision.
"We cannot delay this anymore because in this country, those who launch a coup will have to pay the price for it."
Capital punishment was abolished in 2004 as part of Turkey's bid to join the European Union. Nobody has been executed in the country since 1984.
Among the latest arrests to be reported was the commander of Incirlik air base in the south used by US-led coalition jets for raids against the so-called Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria. Unnamed officials said Gen Bekir Ercan Van and 10 other soldiers had been detained for their role in the coup.
Also on Sunday, more than 50 senior soldiers were detained in the western province of Denizli, including the garrison commander.
Those arrested on Saturday were reported to include Gen Erdal Ozturk, commander of the Third Army; Gen Adem Huduti, commander of the Second Army; and Akin Ozturk, the former Chief of Air Staff.
One of Turkey's most senior judges, Alparslan Altan, has also been taken into custody.

President Erdogan has called on the US to extradite Fethullah Gulen, 75, who heads the popular Hizmet movement and is said to count military chiefs and mid-level bureaucrats among his followers.
Once allies, Mr Erdogan has long accused Mr Gulen and his supporters of plotting against him.
US Secretary of State John Kerry said of any extradition, that Turkey should "present us with any legitimate evidence that withstands scrutiny".
Mr Gulen has denied any involvement in the coup. He has been in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania for the past 15 years, and said: "I don't even know who my followers [in Turkey] are." He suggested Mr Erdogan may have staged the attempted coup himself in an attempt to tighten his grip on power.
Mr Kerry strongly rebuked a Turkish minister who suggested Washington was behind the coup. He said "utterly false" insinuations were "harmful to our bilateral relations".
US President Barack Obama has joined other world leaders in calling for all parties in Turkey to "act within the rule of law".
